my boat came with bullseyes(?) in the dodger which i found useless so i had them changed to vertical slits with reinforced edges. problem solved.

Morty,
Did your boat have the cam cleats mounted on the traveler track? That's how mine is so to release the traveler you have to reach forward through the slit in the dodger to pull the line up. Stu's arrangement has the cam cleats at the aft end of the cabin top which is closer to you and would be easy to set and release. This would only require a hole in the dodger for the line to pass through since it doesn't move much vertically.

yes, garhauer has a cam cleat on each end of the traveler track, but i changed to slits before i switched to garhauer. i don't have to reach forward at all, i can easily work the traveler from the helm area, which was the idea in the first place.
