I just bought my first sailboat this year and am enjoying it so far. It has a keel that swings forward when lowered but I don't see anyway to lock it into place. Am I missing something or is this how it's suppose to be? I'm thinking any forward momentum in the water would tend to push that keel backwards unless it is locked into place. Anybody have experience with these types of boats? Thanks

Check your spec sheet. That keel probably weighs so much it will only retract when you crank it up or hit something! Chief

I've searched a few different places and on all the specs I seen it doesn't show the weight...I imagine your right though...the weight of it must hold it down cause I'm not seeing anything that talks about locking it into place. Thanks for the help Chief.
