Hello everyone, I am building a new table for my C-22 and would like to know the lenth and width of the original table. My 73 did not come with one. Thanks much, Rick 73 Catalina 22 #2113

Table

The table, when in the "bed" position, will fit on the ridges of the two dining seats. Measure your opening for length and width and check, as it may not be, square. Post back if you think you need a traced pattern. I have a '76 #6689.

Table

I measured the length and width of the area that the table sits when it is a bed. I also measured from the hardware. I got 2'wide x 35" aft side, 34" forward side. I just wanted to match these measurments with the original table from Catalina before I cut anything.

Tilt Factor

Rick, Something to avoid - older boats like mine only had one table "leg" on the inboard side. It was positioned in the center of the inboard edge in order to allow people to slide their legs in and out of the salon more easily. The down side is obvious - once you start to lean on the table or weight it too much on either of the front corners, it literally tilts and falls over. There are a number of fixes to this - many are listed here, some in the Catalina Direct or Catalina 22 Association technical pubs. I am unsure which is best, and have yet to modify my table - but it is on my "to do" list. Scott

Cat Direct Option

I installed the Catalina Direct table kit and it completely fixed the instability problem. Rock solid but still easy to take the table down. I recommend it. The single leg table without some sort of fix is downright dangerous. Randy
