C-22 step cooler size

When someone has a second, please do me a favor and measure the bottom of the cooler used for the step on the C-22.
I picked up my new (to me) '96 model today. I've spent the day cleaning (to late to sail this afternoon and storms tonight).
I need a cooler and I'm kind of a cooler snob. Thinking I'll put a Yeti there.
Thanks for the help.

If we use the same cooler (and I think we do) it's a Coleman 48. I'm not sure of the dimensions offhand, but sadly, I have never found a Yeti (or any of their knockoffs) that will fit. I would buy one TODAY if I did.

I would think this one would be close, but I don't know the exact cooler bottom dimensions. This one is 20"x 13 3/8" on the bottom.
If someone can measure the bottom of their step cooler I'd appreciate it.

Ever make any progress with this?

I recently had the opportunity to try out a "Grizzly 40", which is a knockoff of the Yeti 45. Identical to the Yeti 45 in size and capacity, according to published specs. I was pretty hopeful ... but it turned out to be just a little too big. :(

My kids bought me a Yeti Hopper for Father's Day so I just kept the old original cooler as the step.
I'm using it to store cleaning products and distilled water for the battery.

I have yet to find anything in the correct size, other than the cheap Coleman unit.
Eventually I figure I'll build my own box.
I'll either hyper insulate it or use it as a storage bin, and convert the trash bin location into a ice box. That's for another off season though.

When I bought my boat, it came with these steps instead of a cooler. I don't know where they came from. They look cool, but I would never use them unless I had an actual fridge of some kind:

The New Designs are a bit difficult to adapt another cooler because of the little corner on the port side. The MK-II's are straight, and it looks like a 35 quart Yeti will slide right in, with maybe a little modification to pull it forward slightly so the lid won't interfere with the electrical panel. We have a 45 quart Yeti Tundra, light blue, that I would make a heck of a deal on. Used one week on the C-22 North Gulf Coast Cruise and ice lasted for the entire trip! $250. if anyone is interested.

@CaptDon01 Yeah, that lip/corner for the seat area is the problem. Without it, agree different coolers should fit.

@Gene Neill nice looking steps. They do kill some valuable storage space though.
I can't remember who it was that uses the cooler space for a Gin locker, and had a better cooler under the table.

You gotta keep the crew happy or they'll strike your sails and abandon you!

I removed the little cabin table in our MK-II which we used as our spirits locker. You just never know when you might break a bone and you'll need some anesthesia to set it..... But it never fails, even when you thought you know your crew, you catch'em red handed!

Don: our Arizona Yacht Club shares your understanding of the medicinal value of libations onboard. Whether in the liquor locker or the ditch bag, it's important to be prepared for emergencies. We now have our own private label dark rum! Burgees and baseball caps are nice too, but our own rum - now that's seamanship!
