Hi all, just installed a bilge pump before launching my recently purchased. '76 C-22 for the first time. I installed the Rule 360 gal/hr pump and float switch under the forward settee on the port side (where the keel lock bolt it). I ran the bilge hose back through the port side of the boat, and (to avoid adding a through-hull fitting) up and out the aft storage area vent. Of course, with that 15 ft of hose, when the pump stops, all the water that didn't make it out the end of the hose comes gushing back into the bilge. ...so the question is multi-fold: has anyone found a good way to install a bilge pump so it gets all or at least most of the water out of the bilge without letting it come back when the pump stops? Maybe with a check valve in the bilge hose? Also, what about pumping from the other sections of the bilge? Is it possible to rig a pickup hose from the pump to, say, under the aft port settee?appreciate any advice...Tom
