I am going to do a bareboat catamaran charter in the BVI this spring/early summer, and I was wondering if anybody has a recommendation regarding a charter company. Or possibly one they had problems have and to avoid. Thanks, Bob

Ditto, plus...

I used TMM one time and was very pleased. I used Moorings 3 times and was very pleased. I used one company that is now out of business and was displeased. I pulled my reservation for Y2k from a company that is now out of business and am very pleased.

Try Catamaran Company or Barecat.com

I have done 15 bareboat charters in the USVI/BVI and have chartered cats 3 times, 2 times from The Catamaran Company (Privilege 43 and 48) and once from a company now out of business (Lagoon 41). The Catamaran Company is excellent, but expensive. Also check out www.barecat.com. Keep in mind, contact me at robertclasalle@cs.com if you might be interested in chartering my brand new, fully loaded Hunter 450 center cockpit sloop based in Miami Beach, easily accessible to the Florida Keys and the Bahamas.

It Doesn't Get Better tha Tradewinds!

Nobody beats their price or service. Check their web site. The frequently run specials that include deep discounts, free sleep aboard when you arrive. and reduced airfare. Four years ago I charted a Privledge 39 cat for a week in December and it cost only $1600. Catamaran company had the same vessel for $4000. The have a few newer cats now
