we are looking at buying a hunter 37.5 1994 and newer maybe up to 2000 or whatever the pocketbook will survive. does anyone have any issues with these boats and as a past owner of a keel stepped catalina(good boat) do they have a dry bilge

PO of a 37.5

Love the boat, the bilge is quite dry. Sails fast and easy to single hand.
The only thing I disliked was the travler/mainsheet setup. It blocks the companyonway. You also might check the boat info tab for other owners reports.

Hunter 35.5 Legend Lake Travis-Austin,TX
Understand this is all personal opinion, but based on many years of being around "Legend" series boats. The 37.5 Legend ran 1989-1995, just like my 35.5. After 1995, it changed to the 376 and is a very different boat. If you can find a 1993/4/5 in good condition that you like, buy it, you won't be disappointed. One of the fastest Hunters in it's range ever built. Very well built and dry bilge as long as it has the sump pump installed that handles drain from shower and reefer/ice box. Thats in an aft bilge that does connect to the forward bilge. Forward bilge below mast will gather dust if all is well.

You really want to have the forward deck area closely inspected for moisture & any delamination. There is a potential for water to enter the core from the area where the furler goes below deck.

Most reports for these boats are excellent.
