Running new halyards
Hi Randy -You can source halyard line at a number of chandleries, or right here in the chandlery (see Related link below) - most newer boats now use rope only instead of wire to rope, so you might consider going this way for simplicity. As for running the new halyard, I've been successful in butting up the end of the old halyard with the end of the new halyard and wrapping duct tape around the break numerous times covering about 2" to 4" on either side. You want it to hold when you pull the break over the sheave at the top, but don't want too much tape so it jams up there. Give it a good yank before hauling it up to make sure it holds. Best,Trevor
