We are going to up-size and have started to look at boats. Any thoughts on buying a pre-owned charter yachts from The Moorings Yacht Brokerage? Pros and cons

are you planning on keeping the boat in a local charter fleet?

Buying a moorings boat only makes sense if you have cash in hand, have seen the actual boat, and you offer a price lower than what gets emailed out once a month.

We look at it for a future, have partnered up on a 343 in the past. Since we are west coast, those cheap carribean boats don't work for us. but in the future we would probably get one 5-6 years old coming out of charter for an extended 2 year cruise in Europe when we retire.

We have cash on hand and will not keep it in charter. We are looking for something to live on for 5 or 6 months a year (maybe longer). We have a place on Lake Michigan for the summers. We both plan on retiring in a year or so. We would like to play around in the FL keys for a season or so and then head to the Caribbean and then wherever she takes us. We are both young (59) and want to enjoy life while we are healthy. We are just starting to explore our options. Thanks for the reply.
