I currently own a 1995 Hunter 29.5 and have been very happy with the boat however I looking to buy a bigger Hunter (33 to 38 ft). I have read that there were some years when hunter build quality was suspect. Does anybody know what years and models they were referring to. Any information provided would be greatly appreciated..

Hunter 36 Punta Gorda
My first Hunter was 2001 290 and was a great boat that we sailed
5 years before buying our 2007 H-36 and a great size and so much storage and a great boat that we cruise with and even raced winning a few races too.
The thing we love is so easy to sail single handed and just the right size to dock
and anchor.
We love the rear berth for sleeping and yes the 38 rear berth is a little bigger
and some times wish we had the extra room in the middle of the night to make
bath room run but we seem to do OK.
Our cockpit is very big and the storage compartment in the cockpit is very large and has the batteries and Gen and keep 2 folding bikes in it and still put all the cockpit cushions in it too.
I almost got the 33 but wife said no and get the 36 and so happy we did,my draft is 4'10'' beam 12' and bridge clearance is 55' and another 2 to 3 ft for wind machine and VHF antenna and anchor light,so 58' is safe.
