Burnt wires on Air Conditioner

Bad voltage regulator on control board or high internal resistance from poor/loose connections.

The reason wires burn is simple, too much current is going through the wire. The circuit protection is not working, this is the stuff that causes boats to go up in flames.

If the AC is blowing hot air and the wires are overheating, then something is wrong with the evaporator and condensing unit as well as the over current protection. My guess is the refrigerate is no longer working or the condenser motor is not working. The thermostat keeps calling for cold air and none arrives so the pumps keep pumping and over heating.
