Bump and grind

Recently while trying to sleep, a new noise that must be dangerous has emerged...when the boat rocks side to side, the stainless rod inside the starboard side(that connects the shrouds to the boat frame} makes a streching or scraping sound on a starboard rock, and a thud on the port roll. The port side is tight...no noise. What's loose, and how do I fix it?

Bruce, I have watched your post as I have the same symptom on my h30t (am assuming yours is a 89 to 93 h30 also). The noise you describe has come and gone several times. I cannot seem to find cause or reason. It is an annoyance but so far does not seem to be a structural problem. I posted a similiar question in ask an owner and received no response.

As Steve says, it comes and goes...gone this weekend. I thought it may have to do with temperature, but the weather has been the same. Guess we'll call Hunter after the hurricane
