OK I'm just venting after a couple of beers but I'm pissed and brokers just suk. I'm seeing a boat on yachtworld and it's far away so I go to look at an overpriced sistership that is local so I can get a idea of what I believe I should pay for the boat I believe is reasonably priced. The broker says make an offer before I fly all the way to ---- and you never know, maybe the seller is ready to unload. OK so I offer 16 K over the asking price of the sistership in --- because the local boat is actually a very nice well maintained boat. Thinking OK well maybe he'll grip reality and maybe sell a little more reasonably with a counter offer since I know the boat has been for sale for over a year. Noooo the apparently stoned broker who apparently can't tell between a 2000 and a 1990 tries to lead me to believe I'm not looking at the same type of boat. Her 2000 Ericson is special. I would say so since they stopped making boats in the early 90's. So I get another redicously high price and asks what my counter offer is... AGGGGGGHHHH! I'm talkin to a friggin brick! A very sociabile brick, but a brick! Who has no idea what they are talking about, but trying to lead me to another offer! It is apparently normal to tell buyers as much misinformation as you think they will swallow and get them to part with their money, OR, people from Annapolis have too much money and just don't care about dropping 100 K on a whim. I don't know nuthin, but if I could ware nice clothes to work and sit in an office and just ACT' as if I understand which end is the bow, and get paid, life would be pretty rosey. OK brokers come back with an explaination for your incompetence or WTF, could you sell used BMW's and make more money. Is that what it's all about. Whew! I feel better. Let this thread die, I just had to vent my frustration.
