I need to replace:cry: my buklhead on my 23ft o'day
it is dry rotted where stay wires straps attach to plywood- probably due to water leaking from- windows & staywire bracket
Any guidance appreciated. I was thinking of taking out entire section and replacing

Not too difficult.
Jack up the roof a little, the bulkheads come right out. You'll find they are held in with SS screws, not tabbed in with fiberglass.
Use them as templates for new ones. I used Okume. One sheet can make both bulkheads.
Take the opportunity to rebed the mast step, and obviously the chainplates (what you call straps).
Epoxy the edges to protect from future leaks.
Varnish, put them in. Put screws back in. Some people take this as an opportunity to replace screws with bolts where the bulkhead fastens to the settees.

Dan's posts will give a good idea of what's involved, but I'd say its an easier job than doing a 25.

what is okume?
I spelled it wrong...okoume is a type of wood. I used joubert okoume plywood to replace my bulkheads. Its ideal for marine applications, but people have used a variety of plywoods.
