There were several earlier threads (Jim W, Mark, boboduke, neptune) about removing that big pesky Starboard bulkhead from the 1981 Hunter 22. I need to revive this discussion. One of the posts suggested that one could get the bulkhead out if you remove the compression post. It seems to me tho' that at least on models with a swing keel, the keel box gets in the way. I cannot figure out any way to get the old bulkhead out or a replacement in without a horizontal slice above the level of the keel box. Hunter says you can install the new bulkhead in two pieces with a VERTICAL cut (which is much better structurally if you can do it). But I just can't see how anything can be inserted into that starboard area with that keel box in the way. Please help.Questions for those who have done this? (1) Does anyone have plans or templates for the new Bulkhead so I can have this fabricated and ready to do before I remove the old bulkhead? (I will pay!) and (2) how to I best marry these two pieces of the bulkhead once they are in place?See http://archives.sailboatowners.com/pviewarch.htm?fno=0&sku=2005317191616.3&id=365415&ptl=#2005318053821.35
