When cleaning up my new Hunter 30, I discovered that some water had been trapped between the aft mattress and the aft bulkhead. I dried the area but the formica coating on the bulkhead chipped away. I found the same issue in the head.

There is no rot, but I want to cover the exposed area. I am looking for suggestions. Should I paint the area or seal it with epoxy etc.?

anything you do short of replacing it will look like a patch job.....but you can make winscote type repair where you put a thin sheet over the damaged area with a horizontal line on the surface aqnd then cap it with some teak trim ......
