I am looking into buying a 1985 Hunter 40. However, surveyor and couple of very knowledgable friends were puzzeld by this situation, and not sure how to advise me about it.
Description as per survey: "The Keel bolt nut, just aft of the compresssion post, is only engaged with the keel bolt by about two threads. At keel, a bulge at both sides of the keel. Some fairing visible. It appears as though this keel bolt may have been added post production and pooly done. The reason for this installation should be researched and its structural integrity verified."
Any ideas?
