Bulb size for 1988 Catalina 30

I recently purchased a l988 Catalina 30. The steaming light is out. Does anyone know what type of fixture or bulb was used when this boat was manufactured? I am trying to minimize the number of trips up the mast in the bosun's chair.

Most likely you have an Aqua Signal 25 Series fixture:

If you drill down through the website, you can get their catalog download with more specifics. Probably it is a 10W festoon, but the trick is whether the end tips of the bulb are "innies" or "outies". Could be simpler to just go up, get the bulb and take it to the store with you.

Sometimes they used Forespar. Take your binoculars or a camera with a zoom and find out what you have first. The WM or Defender catalogs will show you the differences.
