To those of you who answered my first question I thank you, however over this past weekend I've come up with the answer and I'll share with you guys. Purchase 2of part number 406960 flush handle and 2 of part number 255612 hasp from West Marine. Take the hasp and grind the slot with a carbide reamer to accept the flush handle. The hasp now accepts the handle and padlock. Mount on an angle so handle falls into recess when not in use and hence no more complaints from the crew. Hope this may help someone else out there.
