I am getting ready to replace the instrument package on our 31. Should I use the nylon or bronze transducers?

Ditto

Frank: I am doing the same thing on our H'31. We decided to go with the Nexus 3000 System. They come with plastic. Our old system which was Navico also had plastic. I have no reason to belive that there is anything wrong with plastic.

Why the NEXUS?

I am still in the process of sorting all the info I received in Oakland and have not decided which system to go with.

Functionallity and price.

Frank: Check the specs on this system. It is like B&G or Okham for the functionallity. List price for everything with a single display was $1300. I got them from WM for $1049 (internet pricing error, but they honored it). Wind transducer, knot log, temp, depth and compass. Easy install (except for thru hulls). They also have a 2 year warranty. System displays can be daisy chained. Everything including GPS and Autopilot can be wired into a CPU (server). Could not find ANYTHING that had the functionallity in a single package for the price. My old Navico stuff has been dying a slow death (15yrs). When I started calling around Nexus was always recommended (3-4 different suppliers). Practical Sailor also recommended. Only time will tell. Also wanted to stay away from Rayethon because of their impending sale of the marine unit. Look around and let me know what you find.
