Hunter 33.5 Chicago
I just bought a 1992 33.5 Hunter from a Broker. The ad said boat
had a new speed, depth, and wind instrument. I just found out the boat
does not have a wind instrument. Am I wrong expecting the broker
to make good on the wind instrument?

Do you mean to imply the broker was the seller? It makes a difference in what his responsibility is.

I think if you look at their ads they will have a disclaimer. This sort of amounts to T.S.

It never hurts to ask, but don't expect too much. Maybe this should be a heads up to everyone to take their ad with them and give a copy to your surveyor. If you don't have a surveyor, then you should check. Once you turn over the money, the boat is yours.

It begs the question, where was the survey and how was this not noticed in the listing of equipment in the survey? Mistakes in listings happen all the time this is part of what should be flushed out in a good survey. It is easy to type wind, depth speed even when it may not have wind..

If you boarded the boat and looked it over prior to purchase, that trumps anything in the ad.

Windex or Spar Fly at the mast head? Both are "wind instruments." Caveat emptor....
