Broken transom shower holder

Dear Beneteau owners

As I've written before, I love the 2002 Beneteau Oceanis 331 I recently bought! And you guys have been wonderfully helpful as I've worked to repair and improve her.

Next topic: the transom shower holder is broken, as this photo shows. It's about 2.25" across at the fat end and 1.125" wide at the narrow end. It's made of plastic that feels quite fragile now.

I've been told that these break routinely.

Do you guys know where I can find a replacement or have a recommendation about how I might repair or build one? Does someone have a 3D model of it and know how to create a new one in a 3D printer?

I’m assuming you already tried matching the sizes to readily available PVC pipe fittings at any hardware store.

Looks like part number 019083 from https://spareparts.beneteauusa.com

The cockpit shower on our 37 is a slightly different design but I was able to order a replacement shower head from them last winter.

We used to be able to create a consumer account on the Spare Part site, but no longer. You must go through your nearest Beneteau dealer. They can help you out.

Like Paul said a dealer can get you access to the site if you don’t already have it. They’ll set up an account, then any orders you place will be fulfilled by them. If you just need this one time item you could probably just ask a dealer for it specifically.

I have a 2001 36 cc and replaced what appears to be that item or a similar one, new spray nozzle, and several of the caps which seem to last about two years from Scandvik. All seem to fit a hole 2.25 in in diameter. Suspect it may be cheaper than going through Beneteau parts - plus free shipping.

I'm a computer science PhD and I speak some French but I'm having trouble finding a part by its part number on spareparts. I'd love a hint!

The site is far from intuitive if your pick your boat model from the drop down, then search for a keyword of “shower” it’ll bring up a list of shower related parts. I think that the first one (the box for cockpit shower) is it. Once you click on that you can see where it is in the diagrams and a photo of it.

My Beneteau 331 had similar issues with the degraded shower and mixer housings. I contacted Penguin Engineering concerning their parts SR81 (white pull-out shower) and SR81/1 (white mixer taps).

Zena was kind enough to inform me that they are a European dealer and provided me with the US-based agent website, www.scandvik.com, so that I could avoid shipping hassles and extra costs.

I found Scandivk part numbers: 10275 (White Recess Shower w/ 10' hose SR81) and 10498 (white Mixer Valve SR81/1). I was also able to locate a few direct housing replacements with the 3 5/8" (~92 mm)) overall diameter.

Try visualizing how it might have been programmed thirty years ago, and then adapted for English, with no budget for either I/T or language resources…. Good luck!
