Broken shower head

I'm a live aboard and I prefer to shower onboard rather than use the marina facilities. I accidentally broke the shower head off at the base where the plastic shower head connects to the hose at the metal fitting. I would like to know if it is possible to simply replace the shower head or do I have to replace the entire apparatus including the hose, plumbing fittings, etc. To replace everything on this boat seems like it will be very difficult because of accessibility problems. Looking for any advise. Thanks!

Many Fittings Same Size

Many water fixture fittings are the same size at home. Check at Home Depot (or the like). They have replacement, hand held, shower heads in the fixtures department. Bring the old one to measure.

Same problem here

Jeff, I did the same thing, broke the hose off at the faucet assembly. I haven't been able to find a replacement hose and head that mates up with the faucet. The one I bought was for residential plumbing and it seems, once again, the boat has some type of oddball marine assembly that no one carries and costs 5 times as much.

Not too difficult

Jeff, I removed the hose and head from the fitting, took the assembly into Boat US and they looked it up and sent me a replacement head. There's a panel in the medicine cabinet where you can access the hose to fitting connection. You're working a little blind but it is reachable. I really wanted to replace it with one of the new exotic home style shower heads, but wimped out and went with the OEM replacement.

Bet it's Grohe..

that what was on my 37.5, and what Hunter still uses. If so, you will have to order the parts from a Grohe dealer. You can probably just order the plastic head. Nothing else I've found fits correctly. German engineering. Watertown Supply is/are great to deal with (link attached), they seem to understand the models used on boats. But you may need to know the model number for your fixture. There should be a spec sheet in your Hunter Owner's manual - there was in mine. If not, call Hunter Cust Service, they can tell you.

H376 Shower Fittings

Our 1997 H376 uses Scandvik fittings in the galley and both heads. The original shower head is Model 102002-D ( a black head with trigger nozzle). You can buy a direct replacement from Scandvik that screws on to the end of the hose. www.scandvik.com 1-800-535-6009

Order from Dealer

I decided to replace my shower head aboard our H380. I simply ordered a new one from our dealer. Shower head and hose cost about $100.
