While I was in the process of tightening the jib halyard to release the furler from the bow, I heard a loud crack up on the mast. The jib halyard was then stuck so I had to rig the spinnaker halyard to lower the mast. Upon inspection of the mast I found the roller was broken where the jib halyard enters the mast. Any suggestions on how to replace the roller would be helpful. Thanks.

To replace the halyard sheeve in the mast, you can drill out the rivets or remove the screws. Install is the reverse.

Depends on type of mast.

Pete: I suppose that it depends on the type of mast that you have. On our mast head, there is a plate that screws on top of the mast head. There are several screws that would need to be removed and the pins and sheaves lift out.
