Broken C22 winch

I broke a winch on a friend's 1979 C22. The winch is stainless steel, but it's base(which broke)is fiber reinforced plastic. Can you find replacement parts to repair this winch? If not, where is a good place to look for a good used one? I believe the winch is made by Abco. Thanks, Bob

YES

You can get replacement parts from ARCO. The winch you broke is a US copy of an ARCO 6 that is made in Australia. They have a web site and you can get the replacement parts for about half the cost of a new winch, but it takes a while to get the parts. When I broke mine, I had to buy a new one right away so I could continue sailing. I bought two Lewmar 6's and only mounted one. If you want another ARCO 6 I will be glad to remove my second one and send it to you for $45.
