broken bilge floor

I am restoring a Vega 27, hull 709, and need to repair the bilge floor. Due to sitting outside neglected for many years water froze in the boat and broke the corners of the bilge floor. Water is now below the floor level inside the keel. I drilled a hole through the bilge floor and found what appears to be a rubber bladder. I was wondering if anyone has completed repairs like this. I am hesitant to tear the floor out and dig into the keel because the space may be too confined to properly put it all back together again. Mark

Mark,

I found that rubberized material as well, send me a picture of the areas in question…maybe I can help you. You can see a few photos of my Lilly Too in the group photo section, maybe some of them will help you as well.

Have a look at the Vega Facebook page as someone
has just sorted a similar problem on a Series 1 Vega
