I broke the impeller on my mast head anemometer this past fall when my boat yard unstepped the mast for some repairs. This is the original "yard bird" on my '83 Cat 36. I need a new impeller, not the whole anemometer. There is no manufacturer or nameplate data on the device to inquire about part/repairs, etc. Does anyone know who to contact? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Call Catalina and see if they did the installation. If so they could tell you the manufacture. If they did not do the install and you are not the first owner, they, by your sail # they can tell you who sold the boat and perhaps you can trace it that way. They keep ALL the records of the boats..good luck from another 36 owner. Gary

Manufacturer?

I'm not familiar with the term "yard bird", but I assume that your anemometer also has a wind direction indicator, and it is most likely attached to a readout in the cockpit. The readout in the cockpit HAS to have some sort of identification, even if the masthead parts do not. My guess would be that it is a Datamarine, as those were very popular in the early and mid 80's. I believe that Datamarine is still in business and located is Mass. Good Luck!
