2000 Macgregor 26X -20 MPH wind, going downwind, Jib only(1/2)and something happened which caused the clevis pin to break, rolller fuller let go, mast and the works came down. I secured everything and motored 30 back miles to home port. I'm trying to find out why! This is my first year sailing and I was by myself... while it's true I was switching sides and tork must have been great but aren't these clevis pins suppose to take the load? Might something have been rigged improperly. I'm trying to find out what may have happened to cause this situation so that I can prevent it from occuring in the future. Any ideas or help would be appreciated, thanks.
