Painting nearly finished :)

Hiee Merlinuxo,

Yes the weather has been co-operating some what of late. Theres been yet another material problem at work so I am off for the next week and the weather has been helpful, although it rained all day yesterday. The cabin and decks are finished now with just some touch up to be done on the forepeak where I had to do some glass repair and also around the mast step itself. Here is the latest photo of her without all the hardware lol.

I hope you are enjoying your time on the water. We may be in next weekend and if not for sure the first weekend of August :). I now have the new running lights installed but they are hard to see in the photo. They sure are small lol compared to the old ones. Very small lenses on them but they are rated at 1 NM and compliant with Canadian and US coast guard regs.

Sasha and I have been talking and decided that somewhere down the line we will take this boat on a cruise to the carribean. The longest passage being the Gulf of Maine at 230 NM. All the rest we can hug the coastline till we make the jump over to the Bahama's.

Happy sailing,
Brina

PS forgot to mention that we changed the ports over to smoked lexan and moved them to the outside from the inside.

Looking great Brina!
Your green paint looks like it turned out a lot better than mine and great job on the ports!
When you guys head South be sure to stop in! Sounds like a great cruise.

Splash :(

Hiee guys,

Thanx for the kind words. I took the tow vehicle in for its inspection last week only to find out theres a bit more wrong then anticipated. So for now we are left without a way to get out boat to the ramp for launching. At first after listening to the mechanic I was quite freaked out but after getting home an calming down and then having a look myself I have come to the conclusion that its not nearly as bad as he made it out to be. Maybe we'll get wet this year. I guess it all depends on the weather and if I miss any more work due to it. No work = no money = no repairs :(.
I finally managed to drill out the anchor locker drain so hopefully there will be no more full bilges when it rains. I've made a tabernakle for the mast so that it can be pinned and raised rather then someone holding their foot on it till it slips onto the mast step which fit inside the mast.
This weekend I suppose I will remove the sole and clean it up. Then clean the bilge and reinstall the lead ballast that had been removed. Next is to run the cable for the running and anchor lights as well as cabin lights. Then run the cabling for the bilge pump (after installing a new automatic one) as well as the mercerator pump. Connect the hosing for the pump out both dock side and seaside. Hopefully there is enough paint left over to at least do the veeberth.

Oh well what do ya do. Have a cold one and plug away at it I guess :)

Happy sailing,
Brina
