Hello All,
I have a round compass window in my bridge deck, but no compass. I
would like to find an original, or at least original-looking compass to
mount there. My glass and weather strip are in fine condition, and the
electrical panel below will be moved soon.

If someone has one for sale, or knows of a suitable replacement, please
let me know.

The nearest one I've found so far is a Plastimo model

Thanks!

Hi Peter.
No experience with Heath but the original compass that was in my
vega was a Signet Marine Gemini. Signet Marine has changed hands and
is a defunct Co. now, I believe. I looked far and wide and got lucky
to find a Gemini sitting on a shelf at a Blue Waters Marine store.
The original depth sounder in my vega was also a signet marine. No
luck there. They quit making those a long time ago. So I put a clear
screw in type deck plate in it's place so it allows for more light
and ventilation into the boat. I'm still playing around with
different depth sounders with little success. I will definantly have
a lead line as back up because I'm not real happy with even the best
sounders. Just me, I guess I'm too picky. Anyway I hope this helped
and good luck.

Robert:
Thanks for the info. Signet Marine has a web site. I managed to get a
new transducer for an old knotmeter that was made by them, some time
back, but there is no mention of compasses. I'll probably put a bid
in on the Heath.

Peter,
Well I stand corrected. Thank you. They do have a site. Now I can
check into getting another depth sounder to properly match my
transducer. Thanks, I don't know how I overlooked the site. Good
luck with the Heath.
