Bridge clearance info

Where do you find this information? I live on the lake of the ozarks and was looking to expand my sailing grounds, but can't find any bridge height information. One part of the lake is state park. I would like to visit it by boat, but it's past 2 bridges and one I have doubts about cIearance. I found early blueprints for one bridge, that was it.... that leaves 4 more bridges.

Normally you can find this on your charts. I was going to point you to the Navionics Web App but for some reason there is no bridge clearance information for bridges of Lake of Ozarks. Pretty much everywhere else I look there is bridge information on Navionics. Do you have local charts?

No charts... I was going to start looking for some. It seems that pretty much anywhere else I can Google it, but not this lake. Charts had never been much concern until I got curious about the bridges.
I emailed the people at the community toll bridge, hopefully I hear back, but that bridge actually concerns me very little. I can look at it and know I will clear. It's very tall.
I considered the Corp of Engineers, but it's not a Corp lake

If you know your clearance and you can be a pedestrian on the bridge, it would be very simple to measure a rope and tie a weight to it and find out the clearance for yourself. Power lines would be much more difficult to determine, I think!

No COE, no chart data. There are regulations for power lines re. voltage, but they are often not followed in non-COE waters. I was able to google some of the power line permit applications.

But basically, it's on you to figure it out, one at a time.

I did a "Look See", and even the Army Corps Engineers site did not have any detail on water to bridge heights. Looking at the Hwy54 bridge (Grand Glaize Bridge) the images would have me think there is not enough height in the span to slip your boat under, unless the lake is low.

You may be able to find something at the local Chamber of Commerce or Visitor Information sites. I did not find anything obvious. I did learn that the Hwy 54 bridge was rebuilt in 2000 and there is 14ft clearance for truckers. But that is of little help.

I would inquire at local government department of public works or state department of transportation (specifically roads & bridges section)
Someone certainly has this information; the bridge is not that old.

The grand glaize is a no-go without unstepping for sure. I believe it's only around 25ft. Most pictures of it online are of the old "upside down bridge " , which was very low.

I believe the toll bridge is 50-100ft to the road bed at full pool (660ft) from some old blue prints I found online. I felt good about that one anyway.

That leave the hurricane deck, nianqua, and one farther west on 54 to figure out.

My goal is to cover as much of the lake as possible. I've been from the dam to the 8mm a lot, and sailed a good part of the Gravois Arm. I think in a week I could make it to haha Tonka state park and back.

That is one crazy lake. Looks like it would take a lifetime or two to explore the entire thing.
Find some boats with a bit higher mast heights than yours and drop some fliers advertising free beer on the other side of the bridges in question in their cockpits. Then just follow from a distance and see what happens.

I have motor boated most of it over the years, but still a lot to see. The last 20 years has been mostly the first 20 miles. I work between the dam and 11mm along with the Gravois arm doing service calls, so that's no fun anymore.
Sailing it one end to the other seems like a fun endeavor though!

Huricane Deck is 74' and Nianqua is 45'. Or at least that is what this says:

Better check that reference a little more carefully. It says the Hurricane Deck bridge clearance is 44'. A transmission sag is 74'. I don't know what that means, but it wouldn't make any sense for a bridge to have a 74' clearance unless there are some very high cliffs on both sides at that location (I suspect there is not). In any case, your Catalina 25 should have no problem with any clearance over 40'.
