I stored the aluminum mast from my O'Day 22 under the carport, suspended from the ceiling by two hooks, those vinyl covered jobs. Seemed to be the answer; kept the mast out of the winter weather, out from under foot, a job well done. I set up the mast today an noticed I inadvertently introduced a pretty good bow by suspendeding it for so long by only two points. I think I will put in on two sawhorses, and try to gently work out the bow, BUT!!, does anyone have another idea? Next winter it will be better supported, you can be sure.

Split inner stays...

Hello, I split my inner stays, led the factory forward and led two 'pro rig' shop made stays aft from a 3 point tang at the spreaders, all to pad eyes thru the deck and headliner, gives me control of the fore and aft column, and splits the load from the main chainplate.... Works bloody great, and looks and feels proper... Not really a bit of work, but worth doing if you have a small section mast... Best of... Mail me at herrons@telus.net and I can send photos... I am just now posting up to a cheapo' 2MB Yahoo site... SH.
