Has anyone changed out the shear pin on a stock 2006 lewmar bow thruster.
Looks simple on the diagram - unbolt motor and swap out the pin. Of course the boat is in the water. Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything before I start.

I have a 2004 423 with the same make bow thruster. The manual is correct. The motor unit must be lifted straight upward and in my case there was some resistence. likely because it had never been removed since installation. All went well. There is no worry about water entering the boat.
I did find a lot of fine granular dust which turned out to be the remains of the old pin. I recommend cleaning the dust away before reinstallation.
