Launch date is quickly approaching. I really need to discontinue "enhancement" projects and get down to cleaning and painting. Nevertheless, we installed our bow rollers and changed out all our halogen lights today.
First, props again to Peter on Sin Tacha for the LED idea. His suggestion for LEDs is a great solution to the problem of LED replacements. If it doesn't work out, it is a pretty inexpensive change. If it does work, its a pretty inexpensive upgrade. I also replaced the nav lights with LEDs, but those were more pricey. The anchor light is already LED. It is worth noting that several of Peter's suggestions are also noted in an article on Good Old Boat this month.
Second, my bow roller manufacturer came through and fabricated the bow rollers. They are 1/4 inch stainless and mount on either side of the forestay bracket, bolted through the hull to deck joint in 5 places on each side, with backing plates placed on the underside. They hold our new delta great! I may make a decorative bowsprit/cover for the end sticking out over the bow...but they look so good, that may not be necessary.
Thats pretty much it for the upgrades this year. Need to get some cleaning and painting done.
Thanks again to Peter and his seemingly limitless list of ideas!
