Bow roller designs

I am looking for a design for a bow roller for the H37-C that will accommodate a 45 lb. CQR as the primary anchor and a 25 lb. Danforth as the secondary. I want to be able to pull the CQR up into its cradle with my (manual) windlass without having to hang over the bow pulpit and wrestle it into place. Also, the tip of the CQR plow must clear the bow so the gelcoat doesn't get damaged. Anyone have such a critter? Photos?

One possibility.

The attached picture is my attempt to duplicate Bill Miller's project(Related Link). I have a 35# CQR that rides right up with the shank end just forward of where the chain enters the locker. My manual windlass is in the locker. I think it could be made longer and heavier if need be for a 45-pounder. To use it for two anchors you could design it so that the CQR would be forward of the smaller anchor. I bought stainless plate at a salvage yard and probably have less than $100. in the roller. It took less than one hour for the local shop to cut, shape, and drill the two plates.

Thanks, Ed.

As you so often do you have provided good ideas. I will probably end up having the new plates welded to the base plate in addition to attaching to the existing side plates. Also will somehow add attachment of the whole unit further aft to provide more balance to forward extension. Will be going into our sixth season in western Mexico where we often anchor in rather boisterous conditions! (That;s why I replaced my 35 lb. CQR with a 45 pounder). Thanks again, Chuck.
