84 H31 Wondering if anyone could tell me if the anchor roller designed for a danforth/fortress in the link below can be modified to work with a Bruce, Delta or CQR. It seems that if you removed the bail, it would work. The only problem I can imagine is the Bruce might tend to "rock" back and forth. I am trying to avoid paying over $250 for one designed for a Bruce.....for the life of me, I can't see why they're so expensive. Thanks

that is about

the size of the self made system that I hang a 35 lb CQR on. I don't think the bail would get in your way. I retrieve my anchor by hand at the bow so my pulling angle is about 30 degrees and the shank of the anchor comes up quite a way before it tilts and lays down. I always wrap the chain around the mooring bitt a full turn after the chain stopper. It can be embarrassing to have the anchor let go when you are under way. (please don't ask)

forget e-bay.....buy it from these guys

Garhuaer Marine..... give them a call to modify it any way you want it. Great customer service, great prices, great quality. And, No, I don't have stock in this family owned business.

Works on mine

The bow roller in the picture looks exactly like the one on my boat and I have only used a Delta anchor. The bail keeps it in place when not deployed.

I agree with Joe.

Gary: I would agree with Joe. You really can't buy any better products for the price. They also have a 10 year warranty. I your case you will want them to custom drill it for you. (probably no charge) Contact them and tell them which anchor you have. I love e-bay. Most of these retailers NEVER tell you what brand stuff they are selling that is NOT JUNK.

Thanks.....

Windline makes a roller specifically for Bruce anchors which doesn't have the overhead bail, see link. I was afraid the tall profile of the front portion of the shank of the bruce would not fit thru the bail on the typical style roller. But.....if it's working on yours, I think I'll give it a try.
