The standard anchor roller that comes with the 260 hardley keeps the anchor away from the bow when retrieving. Has anyone concidered (or fitted) on the very point of the bow an anchor roller. Perhaps the pullpit can be modified to accomodate a roller/anchor holder all in one that extends out about a foot or so. So no need to store the anchor and easy dropping and retrieving?? Regards

Don't think that the stock anchor roller

is intended to store an anchor on it. I think that if you want to do that you'll need to upgrade to another model of roller then maybe put a Bruce on it or something. I was going to do just that but am wondering if the bolt pattern is the same, probably not...:-( I saw a solution where the anchor was kinda stored on the bow pulpit. You can buy a thing from West Marine to do that. Tom M.

What type of anchor?

Mark: What type of anchor are you dealing with? If you have a danforth type, then you may be able to get an anchor-lok pulpit holder. They have them at West Marine for about $26. Chances are that the previous owner just put on the cheapest bow roller available. You may want to contact Garhauer Marine for a unit that is sized for your anchor/boat. www.garhauermarine.com

Upgrade Anchor Roller

I feel your pain. The roller that came standard on the H260 is the basic minimum. The edges are so straight, the first night I slept at anchor, the anchor roller started to cut my anchor line. The ends of the roller should have been flaired. Also, in the West Marine catalog, they have "anchor rollors" (which we got with our boats) and "anchor rollor/mounts" which are designed to store the anchor when not in use, and some have flaired ends. They cost around $100. I think I'am going to get one. Good Luck!

There is a thick aluminum peice encapsulate int the fiberglass. so if you have to redrill just make sure you fill up the other holes with caulk to prevent any leaks. Use caulk liberally and suggest cleaning with alcohol. Exposure to acetone is not good and I get goofy smelling it all the time. Oh what the heck, I am goofy right Jim Seamons? Crazy Dave
