I'd try to straighten it
Don,I have successfully straightened stanchons with the use of a welders torch. I cannot see why it wouldant work for pulpit tubing. I would first remove the pulpit assembly. Then determine where the problems are and heat and bend. You may need to inset something in the tubular steel to prevent a crimp effect depending on the severity and location of the bend. The diameter of the tube near the bend can get slightly distorted as well, but it wont be noticeable. You will also have to clean up the discoloration of the steel once the straightening is complete. It blues similar to how motorcycle exhaust pipes blue up. I used a 600 grit wet sand paper. Worked great. Straightening with heat may reduce the strength of the steel a bit, but I haven't noticed that problem with repaired stanchons.
