Bow Light Problem

The red/green bow light on my 1997 h26 does not work. I have traced the problem to the lack of a ground. The factory ground does not have a ground connection. My problem is that I can't find where it was supposed to be grounded. If I could find the other end of the ground, I could pull another wire, or properly screw down the existing one. I don't think the ground comes back to the fuse panel. Any suggestions? David King, "Molly"

Ground location

David,It took me a while to find the ground on my H240. The common gorund point is actually led back to behind my fuse panel. It is just a large screw to which all the ground leads are attached. It was not obvious when I took the fuse panel off: I had to reach down to find it. Perhaps yours is in the same location? Tony

...the ground for our '98 240 is behind the panel. Not sure if the 260 is the same but maybe....good luck

David, The ground is carried back to the fuse

panel on my 95 H26. Use an ohm meter at the panel with a jumper at the light socket to see if both wires are good on their run to the front and back. If not, then check each wire individually. If the wires are good as individuals, and the other systems sharing this common ground are working, then check the bulb socket itself.RayS/V Speedy
