I have a 1993 Catalina 28 and need to put a bow eye on the boat. On the bow there's about a 2 foot long flat edge. I would think that it would be easier to bolt it on that flat edge rather than the rounded edge farther down. Where's the best place to mount it? I was told that the winch on my trailer (which hasn't been mounted yet) should be 2 inces below the bow eye so the winch will be pulling down on the bow eye slightly . Is that correct? Thanks.
