The bow eye cleat on my boat has pulled out about one inch where you can see the threads. Is is possible to just tighten this up from inside the boat, or do I possible have a larger issue with this. The boat is a 2007 Hunter 25, and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My suggestion is to upgrade

I would guess this bow eye cleat is not up to the job. Whenever something likes this happens on my boat I tend to upgrade to a larger model with a larger stainless steel backing plate. I think you would do well to do the same.

Backing Plate

If you don't have a flat surface for the backing plate take about a 5"-6" piece of pipe and cut it lengthwise and just use one of the halfs. This idea is not mine. It was mentioned on this site a while ago and it works great.

Mike, I would also check w/ Hunter to be sure

that the bow eye was designed to dry-winch the boat onto a trailer. It may be that you'll need to float onto the trailer and just secure the boat using the bow eye. Just a thought.
