We have a c&c 36 and the bow seems to be low in the water. Everything is taken out of the front but the rudder is still approx. 3-4 inches above the water line. Is this normal? The boats engine was replaced 4 years ago, could it be an engine weight difference?

A common problem for IOR-style hulls (C&C, Sabre, etc) with pinched ends. Very little reserve buoyancy in the ends so balance is tricky. The re-power might have effected it, perhaps batteries too. What kind of ground tackle do you have.... 200 feet of chain?? ;^)

Another likely culprit is just 'stuff'. Spend a day and take everything off and look at her again.

We took everything but the bedding out and it only gained an inch. No water no anchor and pumped out. Trying to find the weight of original engine compared to new. I just say its the paint... we get comments often bc people are concerned something is wrong, so its making me think...

Look at the waterline, not the rudder. The top of the rudder may be at or slightly above the waterline. When sailing or motoring, the stern wave will submerge the rudder. The photo is a 1993 Sabre 362. The top of the rudder is at the waterline.

Sailing is fine its at the dock you really see it. Yes the rudder is at the waterline. I will take a pic today and try to post onboard.
