Bow Chainplate or Bow Roller Needed - NOW

Hi, All:

I've sold Vesper, V1868. The young fellow that bought her has some very
enthusiastic plans. I should say - - "HAD!" His plans are falling apart because of
one person's stupid action. He needs, very badly, a bow chainplate.

He (His name is Patrick) ordered one, requesting - and expecting - fast
delivery. However, it was very thoughtlessly sent by "Economy" means, which is
costing him dearly in time and money.

If you have any kind of VEGA bow chainplate, or know where one can be
located, please call or e-mail, during daylite hours.

Thanks.

Hi

I must be that "STUPID PERSON". I send all my items as fast as I can. No one will pay the price of two or three day carriage from the UK to the USA.

I am sure that everyone else that has bought items from me has been very happy and I have never had a problem.

I sent the item the day I received the cheque. Patrick had been sending emails for two months about the double bow roller and only finally decided (and sending teh cheque) in the middle of March. You must hear both sides of a story before jumping in .......

I have an original bow plate which I am happy to send express free of charge.

Remember the cost of carrige from the UK is expensive for items heavier than 2 kgs. I try to do my best for every Vega owner the world over from PAGO PAGO to ALASKA.

Kind Regards

Okay, it's not often that I feel incensed to defend someone that I actually have never
met, but the VAGB, and Steve Birch in particular, is as close as you are going to get to
a Vega Owner's Rapid Response Team!

I have had dealings with Steve both on- and off-line for the last few months, and I
have have never been let down - am actually surprised that he doesn't just tell me to
'p@*s off' sometimes with some of my daft questions.

Keep up the good work Steve; everyone else - careful you don't spoil a good thing :)

take care all,

adam

Well said Steve,

I've had nothing but excellent service on anything I ordered, including a
Beta Engine w/accessories. Steve has been there for all of us Vega owners
time and again and has been an invaluable resource of parts and information
when we need help. Any delay's encountered where always due to my not
deciding in a timely fashion.
Name calling is definitely not in order here and is something I wouldn't
want to see started on this web site.

Gentlemen:

People do rush to extremes, even to exaggeration in response to others'
statements.

So far, the only name calling is that of Steve, himself, in reference to
himself. My comment was that (speaking of the fellow that purchased my boat):
"His plans are falling apart because of one person's stupid action." Nobody
except Steve ever said Steve was "STUPID."

Personally, I am far from stupid, but have made my share of stupid actions.
The difference here is that I own up to my own stupid mistakes.

The story is that, at the time of purchase, Steve was told of Patrick's
intended voyage departure date (mid-April) from Connecticut. Steve shipped the
very necessary piece of equipment in Mid-March, using "Economy" means with full
knowledge that it could not possibly arrive until much later than the necessary
date. Patrick was not made aware of this until it was too late, nor that he
could have received it on-time if it were shipped by more expeditious - albeit
more costly - means, which he would have borne.

Steve, grown men own up to their errors. Don't wallow in self-pity for
making one.

My apologies to all who were drawn into this. I agree that name-calling has
no place in this group: even calling ourselves "Stupid."

Most Sincerely

Saylered
