after posting a few previous posts and the responsed i had received i went ahead and bought a 74 catalina,,22 ft w/trailer. pulled it behind my 1/2 ton dodge van and had no problems towing at all. of course you have to remember it's back there when stopping, but no sway at all..i stayed at 50 mostly, but went to 60 a few times. wanted to go slow only cuz the tires on the trailer were and are really bad. thank goodness no tire blowout cuz i dont think i would have gotten the bolts off the wheels,, talk about rust... this it going to be a project but not too bad, a few months of fixing a few things and i think we'll be ready for the wet stuff....thanks again for all the responses from previous posts.. great place to get some answers....

We'll see you out there! One of the nice things about that boat is also that you can opt for the string line at Isthmus Harbor in Catalina and almost always get a mooring. Max size 25'. Good luck. Rick D. PS: name??

Good Choice

Tom, Best of all with a swing keel you'll be able to sail where others can only drive!(related link) Happy sails, MArk
