Looking at A 22ft. cat. for sale,good shape overall,but the non-sailor owner painted the bottom and trailer with same paint,rustolium!!Price is right on this boat,but wonder what will have to do to bottom --paint remover??

Rustolium as bottom paint? If you keep the boat on the trailer when you arn't sailing, it may work out okay. If it's in the water all the time you'll need to sand it and apply bottom paint, as the rustolium has no real biocides to stop marine growth.

Sand

You should probably be able to sand that off fairly quickly. Can't imagine that he would have been able to build up a think coat of (choke!) Rustoleum. LaDonna

removal

If you sand make sure you use a good mask in case there is a ablative or other type of paint underneath. These are not good inhalant items. You might consider strip removal that works great, check out catalogs. Works great, no dust, then check for blistering and repair as needed.
