any recomendations on stripping the bottom? dry ice, walnut shells, sand blastingor good old sanding?thanks Mike

Yes I sand blasted our bottom. Then epoxy, then bottom pain

Soda Blasting

Is there a place that does soda blasting? It takes stuff off like sand blasting but is not a harsh. It seems to work really well.Rob Morton

Don't sand blast!

Mike,Accoding to Don Casey's book "This Old Boat" - ...."fiberglass hulls should NEVER be sandblasted. Sandblasting destroys the integrity of the gelcoat, making it pourous and almost certianly leading to hull blisters." He says that the safest way to prepare a hull is to scrape it with a hook scraper. See his book for all the details. I used his method and it worked well for me and was a lot cheaper and easier then sanding the hull.
