The previous owner of my boat stored the boat in the water so he needed bottom paint. I keep the boat on the trailer when it is not in the water so I don't need the bottom paint. How can I remove the bottom paint without damage to the gel coat?
Look for a business that has "Softstrip" process they will blast it with plastic beads that will not damage the fiberglass. It may not end up looking as good as new, because to prepare the boat for bottom paint they used course sandpaper, or an etching chemical to make the paint stick. I would just keep the bottom paint, and spend the money on something else, like an autopilot.
