While doing some engine work on My MacGregor 26x I decided to repaint the bottom. About a year ago I did this for the 1st time and what a mess to clean up. Never again! I painted the bottom with Bottomkote Aqua Blk Gel. This time when I pulled it out there was nothing. The color had changed from black to a coppery color below the water line but no build up. When painted the last time I used about a 1/2 gallon of this stuff for 2 coats. With the remaining 1/2 gallon I put on another 2 coats with very little prep. I keep my Mac in the Neuse River near New Bern NC year round. I liked this paint as it is water based and not noxious. In the accompanying photos you can see 2 stands I made from scrap metal. I jack the trailer up with the boat on and paint about 95% of the boat. With the stands underneath I let the trail down and am able to move the boat to get those areas where the trailer obstructed the painting. Hopefully I won't need to do this job for a couple of years!
