I have just pulled my 1979 C30 and have found a local shop to sand and repaint the bottom. I live in Montana so the shop has months to complete the project. I am very confused as to which paint to use and currently am leaning towards VC17. My wife (the Admiral) and I like to race "Defiance" in the Friday night FUN races. We are not very good at it, its our first year! But hope the paint might help. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers, Jerry Magnuson

Just did mine too

Hey Jerry, I just went through this last spring. It was sandblasted first, then epoxy filler was put in the blisters, then a barrier coat (waterproof) 5 layers was put on. Then the antifoul paint put on last. Check out west marine as they have lots of information on these systems, free brochures with info too. If you want more details e-mail me. See ya Dean

Bottom Paint

I have been painting my bottom on my 1981 30 for twenty years with Interlux Micron CSC, the beauty of it is that you never have to sand it. It lasts about 3 years and just wears away. I painted a gray coat as the first coat so that I am able to recognize when my red coat has worn away.
