Can anybody give me a recommended bottom cleaning interval for S. Cal?? The guy I've been using om my H376 has started to come every 3 weeks in the summer and its getting expensive. My bottom paint is 10 month old. I called and questioned why every 3 weeks and he said thats what he does and if I dont like it to find someone else. So I told him "adios". Now since I just fired my bottom cleaner, does anyone have a recommendation for someone in San Diego?? Thanks, Bob

in MDR is once a month in winter; twice in summer after the first year. Same outfit for 20 years. Greater frequency if the paint dumps. Good luck, Rick D.

Bottom Cleaning in San Diego

Boy, these guys sure have a good racket going don't they? You pay to have your bottom painted every couple of years, then you pay some other guy to come by every month and scrape your new bottom paint off! There are only two reasons to have your bottom cleaned more often. First, the cleaner makes more money. And second, it's easier for him to clean with only 3 weeks of growth. Personally (if I wasn't married) I'd have it cleaned only right before I'm going to take it out, but since the wife gets freaked out if she sees any squiggley things growing on her boat, we get it cleaned once a month. We use Neil on Mission Bay (619)368-7713. If you're on San Diego Bay, call Aquarius (619)222-4147
